How Is Mandating Health Insurance Socialism? Why Is No One Rioting About Car Insurance?
Posted by Kuka under auto on 17 七月, 2009Healthcare is still run by the private sector. Just more people will be able to get it.
How is ensuring everyone has insurance socialized medicine? Healthcare is run by the private sector either way.

I would totally riot about car insurance. It’s been a while since I’ve had a good riot.

What business is it of the government that people have health care?
As for car insurance, government OWNS driving in toto. It licenses drivers and vehicles, it sets the laws of the road, enforces those laws and even mandates many features of vehicles.
And how can government enforce it? Where does government get the authority to force people to purchase health insurance? I don’t consider that to by “socialism”, because it isn’t. “Tyranny” is a much better description of such a policy.

Because car insurance isn’t just given to everyone. At least in SC you either pay for your own insurance or you opt not to drive at all. Whereas socialized health insurance would be “free” to the people, meaning anyone, including illegal aliens could get free service on your tax money (and your taxes would go through the roof to pay for it). It would also rob you of your freedom of physician, because they would all be too overworked that you would have to live with seeing whomever was available at the time for shoddy service because they’ll want to get through as many people as they can.
It’s not something they’re requiring you to have in order to gain a privilege, you don’t get the option of either paying for health insurance or not living like the conditions are set with car insurance. It’s mixing apples and oranges; with car insurance you earn the privilege to drive based on these set guidelines, health insurance would be “free” to all, not you earn the privilege to now live because you paid for health care, it’s provided by the government, but forced taxes on the working class who would then have to pay for the non-working classes’ treatment, while depleting their own level of service.

The right has destroyed everything this country was proud of. The only thing we have left is money manipulation; credit management, mortgage, insurance. And in the wake of this disaster, this administration kills the value of the dollar. Way to go. If Hillary gets a non-profit health insurance plan thru, which she won’t, the insurance companies will fold like a house of cards.

Mandating the insurance is not socialism
Mandating that everyone pay for health insurance for the poor is.
However, health insurance should return to just that, insurance against catastrophic loss. Health savings accounts with high deductible catastrophic policies are the best way to fix health care.

the gov’t requires you to have liabality ins. which prevent law suits and protects everyone on the road. thats all.
health insurance is for your own benefit. alot of people decide to spend their money on christmas shopping and flat screen TV than major medical. priorities what can i say. if you dont wanna pay for it then dont complain from your doctors bill

Ensuring you can pay for the damage you cause to others makes more sense to me than trying to ensure that you can pay for the damage you do to yourself.

because people aren’t being taxed to pay for other people’s car insurance.
the fact that people will be taxed to help pay for OTHER people’s health insurance is socialism.

Medicaid and Medicare is government mandated health care. We also have disability, unemployment, food stamps, and welfare. Using their logic, America is already quite Socialist.

it is socialism and car insurance is a requirement to drive a car driving is not a right

Forcing people to get healthcare who can’t afford it so everyone can have it is the definition of socialism.

Because the Right doesn’t want Real American to stand on their own to feet. That way they wouldn’t have something to feel moral superiority over.

Insurance companies make billions, they are not going to give aways the goose. They will do what they have to

You don’t need a car to live. But EVERYONE needs health insurance.
